Excellent piece making pertinent points. The question for me is how can such marginal organizations, representing, at best, around a hundred and fifty thousand people, weild such influence? The thing that stans out is the craven cowardice within British institutions to stand up to such bullying. It seems that human rights go onto the back-burner when it comes to Palestine. Whether this is a collective guilt complex for something that happened almost beyond a lifetime ago, who knows. But it's very much a western phenomenon. In countries like South Africa it is nowhere near as effective. So how about a bit of courage and honesty from our unions and civil society. Stop appeasing apartheid!
